Some of you reading might think that evolution is just  guess work, well let me break it down for you. In this article I am not going to try and change your mind about evolution.  I just want to show you how misinformed you may have been  on the subject matter.

You may be thinking , well its just a “theory”. Well shocker ,when scientists  use the word ,it means something different to the layman language of theory. In the everyday man language a theory is a guess, not well substantiated , just a clue that comes to ones’ mind. But in science a theory is an explanation of a fact, it is well supported, well documented, it is our best explanations for our observations, ’NO’ it isn’t guesswork, it brings together all the facts about something and can also be used to make predictions on the subject matter.
In science, we collect facts, or observations, we use laws to describe them, and a theory to explain them. A theory never becomes a LAW . it should be understood at this junction that a theory is better and higher than a law, a law is a description of our observations , whilst a theory is an explanation of our observations, these two should not be confused with each other.

Many scientific theories are so well-established that no new evidence is likely to alter them substantially. For example, no new evidence will demonstrate that the Earth does not orbit around the sun (heliocentric theory), or that living things are not made of cells (cell theory), that matter is not composed of atoms, or that the surface of the Earth is not divided into solid plates that have moved over geological timescales (the theory of plate tectonics). Like these other foundational scientific theories, the theory of evolution is supported by so many observations and confirming experiments that scientists are confident that the basic components of the theory will not be overturned by new evidence. But we should keep in mind that refinements and increased understanding  of evolution will continue to emerge at an alarming scale with the advent of new technologies

Take this, there's a law of gravity, which is the description of gravity. It basically says that if you let go of something it'll fall. It doesn't say why. Then there's the theory of gravity, which is an attempt to explain why. These explanations are called theories, and will always be theories. They can't be changed into laws, because laws are different things. Laws describe, and theories explain.

Just because it's called a theory of gravity, doesn't mean that it's just a guess. It's been tested. All our observations are supported by it, as well as its predictions that we've tested. Also, gravity is real! You can observe it for yourself. Just because it's real doesn't mean that the explanation is a law. The explanation, in scientific terms, is called a theory.
For example, the theory of gravitation predicted the behavior of objects on the moon and other planets long before the activities of spacecraft and astronauts confirmed them. The evolutionary biologists who discovered Tiktaalik predicted that they would find fossils intermediate between fish and limbed terrestrial animals in sediments that were about 375 million years old. Their discovery confirmed the prediction made on the basis of evolutionary theory. In turn, confirmation of a prediction increases confidence in that theory.

Evolution is the same. There's the fact of evolution. Evolution (genetic change over generations) happens, just like gravity does. The Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection is our best explanation for the fact of evolution. It has been tested and scrutinised for over 150 years, and is supported by all the relevant observations.
Also in this  respect, the past and continuing occurrence of evolution is a scientific fact. Because the evidence supporting it is so strong, scientists no longer question whether biological evolution has occurred and is continuing to occur. Instead, they investigate the mechanisms of evolution, how rapidly evolution can take place.
